What's new

Grooming Dept club

I could care less but only because I'm already set + I've found Mo to be a really nice guy, and a very straight shooter who's gone out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with his products. The only other vendor I've dealt with that has the kind of customer service he has is Connaught. They're not trying to create new soaps and such and they've been around longer.

Seems obvious to me that people like different things so I wouldn't expect everyone to prefer any particular soap. There sure are a lot of gentlemen willing to put up with Grooming Dept Growing Pains in order to get Mo's soaps. I'm one of them. Once I tried a GD soap (a member "forced" me to try on by sending me a very generous sample), I was hooked.

If I didn't already have a "few" Grooming Dept soaps I'd been more concerned and have less patience.

Better soap for less money? Not according to me. Of course, I've not tried every soap in the world. Like most of us I've tried five or six.

Happy shaves,

Have you tried Murphy & McNeil? Most of his soaps are $16.99 w/ free shipping and 5.5 oz per tub

Murphy and McNeil Shaving Soaps

It made me completely forget about Grooming Dept.

This one irritated me more than the previous problems. Particularly, he's had several weeks to plan ahead as to how he would handle this. He listed all of the soaps for weeks, hit up social media, and yet he still still didn't have a plan for how he'd arrange to have these sent out timely? It's not like his stock was immediately purchased and he had to arrange to ship the soap that he had previously assumed he had weeks to sell and ship. He still has soaps listed on his site for crying out loud. I'll stick to only buying his stuff from WCS if I can help it.

This would irritate me if I didn't have any other soaps or creams at hand.

But it's not like most of the people who buy his products are going to be forced to shave with dishwashing soap until they receive their orders.

Now that's funny...

I might be forced to shave with Laundry soap. Yeah I know...sorry.

Happy shaves,

Jim

Was just going to ask in this thread if anyone received shipment notification, because I haven't received anything. Looks like I got my answer.

Hmm...must be last in/first out. Mine was ordered last Friday the 14th.

Perhaps you should send an email to GD for an explanation. I think he would be responsive.

After receiving an email that many of us got, I thought shipping would resume. I think that most likely a more detailed explanation will be forthcoming.

He’s always been responsive, and courteous.

I ordered on the 12th and received mine today. I purchased the Cedarwood and Lime pre-shave and tried it tonight with GD's Mallard Lavender soap. WOW! This stuff is well worth the wait, and will undoubtedly be ordering from him again. This pre-shave is the real deal, and the 4oz. jar should last for a very long time! I'm anxious to see the results after continuous use.

How do you like the Mallard Lavender? Been thinking of ordering it since it's still in stock.

The scent from the container is misleading, ie it doesn't really have much to offer. Once you start lathering, it really opens up to a pleasant aroma. My wife even commented on that. I like it! Very slick and a lot of cushion. A little goes a long way!

One thing you can go to the bank with, you will receive your order and if you wish to receive a refund, for any reason, it will be processed with a smile.

Mo does make some of the best products on the market these days and its no wonder GD is on many peoples top 10 list.

Did not order from this most recent release (last one was Mallard Rose Chai) so there is more awesome soaps for others to try. As for the time it takes to recieve a order there are other artisans that have had long waiting times as well. As long as the end product is worth the wait and IMO this is one artisan that is worth however long it may take to be released/arrived.

I for one am happy he sent a email letting me know what is going on every one wants instant gratification pulling packing and shipping tons of orders takes time it’s a small batch artesian product that takes a little more time if you want it quick Walmart and target have options even amazon promises 2 days and I’ve had things take a week or more to arrive give gd the benefit of the doubt if it’s good artesian product(and it is) it’s worth the wait and will be even more satisfying to use when you receive it
