List your top products

I’ve purchased tons and tons of shaving stuff. I use most of those products, but a lot of them are just sitting there gathering dust.

These are some of the products which I absolutely love.

Nuavia
Baume.Be
Rockwell 6s
Standard Razor
Floid Vigoroso
Crown Shaving Co. AS Tonic
Nivea Sensitive Balm
Thayers Witch Hazel
Plissoft Monster

I have a lot more stuff not mentioned above which I use as part of my rotation. The lists consist of what I consider the best of the best (of the stuff I have tried). I also have many items stored in the garage -- good stuff, but not good enough to make it to the rotation.

If I was forced to throw all my products away and keep only what I really need to shave for the rest of my life, I would choose the Standard Razor along with Bume.Be and Floid Vigoroso.

What are your favorite products?

That's quite a list. I wonder what the one of your so-so products would look like.

Astra green blades. They do a fine job and the price is reasonable. You can spend more and get merely equal performance, or spend less and feel like you're doing penance for a lifetime of sin.

Tabac puck. I've used mine exactly once. But it took just that one time to realize its superiority over Arko. And I like my Arko just fine. Good travel soap...but Tabac is better.

The alum block. Folks, this is the world's greatest underarm deoderant. You don't get body odor for 24 hours and you aren't wafting with overpowering fragrance. Alum has no scent. You smell like you. So it doesn't conflict with an AS splash. And your shaved face responds to it just fine.

Razor. It's really all about this, isn't it? Honestly, for me, the Merkur Progress is still the boss.

Is it? Only 3 brushes, 8 razors and 4 soaps? Maybe the aftershaves with 17, but I own well over 250 aftershaves.

So not so much of a list at all.

Okay, it's going to be easier for me to list the products I dislike, not hate, but dislike. This is the list so far. Hopefully it remains as such;
  1. William Marvy's Mug Shave Soap
  2. Concord Razor (Not the blade, the razor. Still better than a cartridge)
  3. Van der Hagen TTO (Still better than a cartridge)
  4. Derby Extra Razor Blade (Still better than a cartridge)
  5. Cremo Horse Hair Brush (Just not digging the horse hair, still better than canned goo)
This list doesn't include carts, shave butters, or canned goo.
