My Guess... 3017

B&M Soap.jpg Started using this soap in July, 2017. Started 3017ing it in 2019 and so far I have 45 shaves with it this year. I expect to finish it up within a few weeks. With regular use this soap is excellent. Has a nice scent and performs better than most. A very rich, lubricating lather. If I did not have so many soaps I would buy it again.

I previously 3017 the B&M Seville. I ended up getting 71 four pass head shaves and 2 pass head shaves with the Seville. Another excellent soap.

I guess I should post a warning too... I just started a brick of Vitos Extra Super Coco 72 shaves ago. I have managed to go through about 66 grams of the (It was 820 grams when I stared) so I don't expect to finish it anytime soon. On the other hand I am enjoying the shaves so I don't particularity care how long it takes.

Ruckin.

And we're done! After 23.5 months of wonderful shaves, my P.160 Tipo Morbido is no more.

Awesome and a half. Well done, Sam.

I have been dabbling a bit. The Arlington has a pronounced divot, and only really shines with synthetic brushes. For the last few shaves this week, I’m using the new SIR Fougere scent of CBL Soaps. Performance is great and the scent is not far off Irisch Moos. I’ll hop back onto The Arlington line next week.

Nicely done @rockviper!

I’ve cut disks off my wilki stick so I can load more and the lathers have been great.

My sister in-law is coming down to visit from the USA next month. I’ve never used a decent synthetic brush and was wondering if there are any recommendations for one (not too expensive) you all would recommend.

I got moves like Jagger
My sample of Mystic Water's Coconut Sandalwood lasted a week; smelled great and performed wonderfully.

Now on to my 4oz of Shaving Yeti's Mamacita on the Rocks!

I would definitely recommend any of the Italian Barber/Razorock “Plissoft” brushes. I use a Plissoft Monster and love it!

Also, Yaqi has some great synthetic brushes, but i ordered mine straight from their aliexpress site in China...

These are the only two brushes I use anymore, and they were both about $15 USD if I recall.

I have read this thread off and on for years, and I have never quite talked myself into it. But at this point, I'm trying to move back toward minimalism. I started going through the boxes of backups and am just aghast. In addition to the dozens of soaps I will be PIFing and selling, I am going to 3017 a few items and be done with them. Not sure what I'll start with, but I should have a handle on it later today after assessing. I want to start with something that's not going to take forever and a day as my first 3017 item. I think finishing one will feel like momentum. I'll check back in when I have something selected. Probably Valobra or Palmolive sticks that I've grated into a tub, but who knows what I'll stumble onto later?

This may be the most inspirational and aspirational thread at B&B. Acquisition got old long ago. Seeing a reduction of stuff is so satisfying. Looking forward to this.

Welcome! Let us know what you decide on for that first 3017 kill.

I also have a Palmolive stick left. Sometime this year it’s moving from the batters box to the plate. Decent enough soap and it should make a quick painless 3017.

The soap is going to be a bit of a mystery soap. It's homemade with an essential oil fern scent I created. I remember the process of making the scent, and I'm assuming the soap itself is a vegan formulation, since that's mostly what I made at the time, about 5-6 years ago. Anyway, there seems to be about a hundred or so grams of soap there, so it may take some time to work through, but the scent is pleasant and inoffensive, and I would like to reacquaint myself with some of my earlier soapmaking efforts. I have it on the sink for tomorrow's shave, and it will stay there until it's used up.

On Palmolive: I have a lot of it. I like it very much, and at one point before I started soapmaking I thought I might just use it exclusively. I changed my mind, obviously, but there's no way I will ever use all that I have. One stick would be a quick 3017, though, I would think.

Sorry ...what is CBL ?
I tried to find it the the abbreviation list but did not find it

Thanks

This is the soap in my preferred 1 cup Anchor Hocking bowl. Evergreen driven more than lavender.

Hmm, I have one of those yeti tins in my backlog. I will get around to it eventually but my brick of Vitos is going to take me awhile.
