Looks great. I think a solid top would be a nice contrast on it. I'd vote walnut.

I like the looks of the first two for the handle myself.
Of those four, I would vote for #2.
You can post one up you like as well. I was just offering up an initial palette.

the turning part goes fast once you look at the wood and find the shape that is in there .

I have this one on hand , it is a 26mm faux Boar knot from PAA
Man that is a great looking brush.

Sure!, I like that knot as well.
The whiter than usual hair for badger goes well against the wood tones.
A Boar might look nice as well. Its really hard to tell what will look good unless you put one in or simulate it being in the handle.
