This is a new one for me. It's an Ever-Ready Fethabrush with feathers instead of badger/boar hair. What were they thinking?

Wow...I never knew or have seen a feather shaving brush. Now you need to use it with a Feather Popular and a Feather blade...a completely fowl shave.

Here is an Ever Ready brush that I picked up last weekend in a local antique shop. I don't know what model it is, because it has no numbers on it anywhere, and I have never seen another exactly like it online or anywhere else. I've seen similar models, but not exact. This one has a double ringed waist below the black rubber ferule while most I've seen have only one. The handle is 2-5/8" tall, with an overall height from base to the tip of the boar knot being 4". It is in excellent condition aside from a couple of tiny dings in the base. The logo on the base seems to be a promotional type logo for an insurance company, and is printed directly on the brush, it is not a decal of any kind. I'd love to know the model and its approximate age. I plan to restore it with a new banded boar knot. Anyone have any idea what model it is? The year it was made?

#65 made around 1927. Wood handle, 18mm Boar Knot with about 60mm loft. Before and after.

Here is one I didn't see in the threads. I have no info for it. 250 NCC, 18mm knot and approx. 45mm loft. The nylon brush was a pain removing. Opened it to squeeze this White Tip 20mm synthetic knot in it. I would love to find a ER carrying case for it. Sweet little travel brush.

I picked up this brush last week, but cannot find any information on it. I think it is boars hair, there are the numbers 383, but no site or search provides a refrence or identical picture to it.

Ever-Ready 807. The bottom is a dark gray pearl disk. I don't know what the knot was made out of, but it's now sporting a 20mm Best Badger from TGN.

This last Saturday I found this one:

Model #451, I have not heard of or seen this model before.

Despite what appears to be cracks, the brush is solid. The knot is very floppy and will need to be replaced.

Haven't seen a post on this forum for awhile so I though that I would chime in. This brush is an Ever-Ready #750. It was my first shaving brush and given to me by my father when I was 15 years old over 55 years ago. The original knot was totally gone so I replaced it with a 21mm Premium Silvertip Badger from TGN set at 50mm loft. Of all my brushes, this one is still my favorite.

I just read through this whole thing because the numbers made no sense to me that I see in my collection!

I just picked up this brush identical to the one you show. Mine has a worm hole, so it will need heavy sanding. What is the knot?

Are the model numbers supposed to make sense on any brush?

Seriously, I know sometimes the letters after the number will mean something, such as "PB" for Pure Badger, or "N" for Nylon. But I've never found that the model numbers of any maker have a particular meaning.

The model numbers usually reflected the suggested retail price. PB500 would be a $5.00 Pure Badger brush, etc.

On my 100T, I think the knot was boar. Not 100%. The knot was coming out when I bought it. I just chucked it.
