Yardley question
Gentlemen,
So what happened to Yardley? I know the company still exists in some capacity, but their corporate website doesn't list any mens products much less shaving products. Did they withdraw from mens scents and products many years ago or only recently? I would love to get my hands on some of their old AS. My father used it when I was a little shaver.
It seems their shave soap is the Holy Grail of tallow around here.

The only Yardley I've seen in at least a decade or two is their bath soap - if I'm lucky. That was my very favorite soap for years and years until it became difficult to come by.

The aftershave is very nice, i've found a couple on ebay for much less than an exorbitant amount.
Yardley's bath soaps are cheap, wonderful and easy to find. they're in the grocery stores here in Portland.

Yardley knows. On Yardley's scale, there is little money to made selling shaving soaps that Joe Blow will likely pass over for a 99 cent can of shaving goo. Unfirtunately, guys like us that enjoy high end shaving soaps are probably less than 1% of the shaving population.

Yardley has been around for almost 240 years. Even though they made quality products, their market share has been declining since the 1970's. They were considered to be products for old ladies and old men.
They were bought by a company called Lornamead in 2005. The product line-up was revamped this year and many products re-formulated. The emphasis appears to be on women's bath products and fragrances. Distribution varies from country to country.
Lornamead markets many other well known brands including Woods of Windsor and Ingram.

That explains it. As of the past few years, I've noticed that Yardley English Lavender bath soap is much more strongly scented and not QUITE as pleasant as before. Still great stuff, but it's been noticeably tinkered with.

Dollar Tree sells bars of the regular soap for $1 a piece. Location is important, to get selection among the four scents (Lavender, Aloe, Lemon, Almond).

I used their Lavender bath soap, well till it ran out this week 
I guess its time to make a trip to the DG woot!
I think its decline was just the lack of how it was marketed, whenever I mention the name to normal folk, the first thing they think of is some hotel soap.

I'm using their Lemon Verbena bath soap. It's a nice bar of soap, and it only cost me one buck. Can't beat that.
