Default Geo F Trumpers Samples

I went to Trumpers website last week, sent them an e-mail asking if they have fragrance samples available, and because I included my mailing address, they sent samples free. The samples arrived today, and include small sample bottles of:

Spanish Leather EdC
Sandlewood EdC
Eucris EdT
West Indian Extract of Limes EdC
Skye EdT
Curzon EdC
Bay Rum EdC

I've never had any of these, and am looking forward to trying them.

I just put a touch of the Eucris on the back of my hand, and it is very nice! It will be one I'll be very interested in seeing how it does in a normal application, or at least as normal as I can do without a spray.

Is it just me, or does the Sandlewood smell very similar to Obsession? At least the first impression?

I wish they made their samples a bit larger....1ml is at the low end of what some places give. Still, they do mail them out, which is better than a lot of places do.

Yes, I wish their samples were a little larger, too. On the other hand, they are free.

Trumper does a great sampler. I still have bits of mine left (ok, ok, so I ordered two).

Interesting that you brought this up again. I sent Trumpers another email this week and asked for a sample of their Coral Skin Food and Fragrance Free Moisturizer, and they are on the way! Great customer service!

They do indeed have excellent customer service. I've been enjoying the samples, too.

I got mine before they started charging for the sampler pack, boo-ya!

But really, the sampler pack is well worth the money. And if you ask nicely and already know what you want to try, they may very well accomodate you. Last time, I politely asked for all of the colognes to be Trumper's Sandalwood and they came through in spades.

Excellent company, them.

Randy, if you like leather frags then you'll love that Spanish Leather. Great fragrance and the 1ml is pretty good sized to let you know whether or not that's a scent that works for you. It does come across as a little potent. Cheers!

So far, my favorite Trumpers frags are the Sandlewood and the Curzon.

By the way, Sal, I like the Mitch Hedburg quote in your sig. I've heard him say that on satellite radio, and he was hilarious. Another huge talent sadly lost to drugs!

Thanks for the sample tip, Randy. I don't have any of the Trumper fragrances. I've been developing my fragrance AD, so these were timely. I requested samples Friday, and they arrived today.

Bay Rum EdC
GFT EdC
Astor EdC
Spanish Leather EdC
Ajaccio Violets EdT
Eucris EdT

I think GFT, Astor, and Eucris will be quite interesting. I was hoping for a Curzon sample, since it's so popular on B&B. I'll just have to stop by the Trumper shop when I'm in London in December and check that one out. I heard they were closing one of their shops. Does anyone know if this is true and if so, which one it is?

Thanks,
-Andy

You're welcome, Andy. When you stop by the store, do yourself a favor and see if you can get a sample of the Sandalwood EdC as well as the Curzon. I enjoy all types of Sandalwood, including Trumpers, which is slightly "sweeter" version of sandalwood.

I'll definitely give the Sandalwood EdC a shot. I'm also very fond of most sandalwood fragrances. I tried out the Eucris sample, and I think it's amazing. I'm not sure I can carry it off, though. I'm 30 years old, and this seems like it may suit an older gentleman better. My gf agreed. Astor actually seems like a lighter version of Eucris somehow. All of these fragrances seem light and unobtrusive. Very high quality. My main concern would be longevity issues with a few of these. All I know is, this sampler is going to be bad news for my bank account.

Agree on the Astor and Eucris similarity. For what it's worth, I'm 28 and enjoy the Eucris a great deal (dont' know if I successfully pull it off or not). If you have a chance, also be sure to check out the Wild Fern.

Trumper is my favorite house and I love their shaving soaps and hair tonics as well.

I really enjoy my Trumper Rose soap. Great stuff. I just found a 100ml bottle of Eucris for the equivalent of about $45 US. I may have to just focus on the fact that I like Eucris and not worry about anything else. Why does a 50ml bottle with an atomizer cost about the same as a 100ml bottle without the atomizer? Is the atomizer that necessary? I ask because I've never had the option before. The other fragrances I have all came in atomizer bottles.

Count me in as another young Eucris wearer. I am 23 years old, but pulling it off is all about how confident you are in wearing the fragrance.

Nothing pleases me more in the colder months than a Trumper's Violet shave followed by an application of Eucris (or Grey Flannel to match the violet accords).

I am a big Trumpers fan. My preferred of the three Ts.

I think you old fogies have to acknowledge that the next generation of gentleman is surfacing (after that appalling lack of civility in generation X). My peers, generation Y, show promise, I feel. We grew up with nary an example gentlemanly influence to rebel against, so the concept is new and rewarding to us when we discover old fashioned values.

i wish I knew. But I sort of like splashes better anyway. i appreciate atomizers sometimes, but if I have the option I usually go splash.

some trumpers come in only an atomizer, others with only a splash, still others give you a choice
