Although Swan sounds interesting, I can still remember the first time I sniffed AV Ice Blue in a store (after reading all the good reviews here), and immediately thought, "Dad!" Since he's long gone, I wear it as a tribute to him whenever it's warm out. Isn't it amazing how scent is able to bring someone back like that? ...Just another reason for me to be thankful that there's someplace like B&B on the web...

I know what you mean, my father only ever used Skin Bracer.

I use it rarely because its like a woosh moment, I don't want to experience everyday.

A friend recently began using PCVIBR for the same reason. His dad passed away a few years ago, and wearing brings back good memories for him.

Really? I didn't realize Vi-Jon made it!

I will certainly have to try a bottle since I use their Ivory Club and Brut knockoff already
I digs me some Vi Jon!

Apparently, Vi-Jon is the maker of most if not all of these dollar store scents. More than once, I've turned over a bottle of house brand AS (the Barbasol line comes to mind) and seen a tiny "Vi-Jon" logo imprinted in the base.

Kind of makes me want to buy some of their stock. Hell, if it's that much of a sleeper, with great market share AND it's owned by Berkshire Hathaway (after all, how wrong could "Warren Buffet be?) why not spring for a few shares? That way when someone compliments your cologne choice, you could say, "Yeah, it's a Vi-Jon scent. I liked their line so much I bought some of the company." Just imagine: Vi-Jon as a new way to impress women!

I think they are the makers of all things 'generic'. Generic, maybe, but with quality. They have been around a very long time, so they must know what they are doing. And another plus, their products are here in the US, keeping our fellow Americans employed.

Hey if they're American made, and they're quality made, then whats their competitors *Name Brands* problem!

Good question.

I also remember reading (on their website I think) that Vi-Jon is a family owned company.

I always by the Swan version of Listerine mouthwash in the 1.25 liter bottle. Swan: 2 bucks, Listerine 6 bucks. You do the math!

I couldn't find a vintage Aqua Velva bottle to decant it into so I poured it up into a circa 1870's/1880's Dr. S. Pitcher's Castoria bottle The blue liquid actually looks GREAT behind the greenish blue glass of the old bottle.
i think it will look pretty good beside my vintage Old Spice and Brute bottles.

I think I moved up a couple levels with the "Avon Deal" yesterday.

I used the Swan Arctic Blue from the old Dr. Pitcher's bottle this morning. It worked great but felt weird, I don't believe I have ever used a bottle from the 19th century before. At least not that I'm aware of.
