Nice ... I am feeling little embarrassed when I think of my collection: MamaBear's Sandalwood Vanilla Soap, Taylor's Avocado Cream, Merkur Slant Bar, AOS Unscented Pre-shave oil + cream + aftershave (just a little bit of those ... approx for 3 shaves) and a Kent brush .... well everyone has to start with something .... keep up the good work

My thing has quickly become the razors. I have had 5 DE shaves but...now own 6 razors. It looks like I am building my day of the week Safety Razor set.

Don't laugh- that setup puts you in the 99 percentile of shavers.
(Then again, if you tell someone that they're smarter than 99% of the people on Earth, it really means there are 60,000,000 smarter folks walking around.)
Seriously- great start at your age. You've saved yourself decades of torment.:thumbup1:

What are the scales for?
What are the scales for?
I believe that's a mug warmer, for keeping the lather hot.

Yeah, everyone else has many brushes, soaps, creams, etc. Me? I went bananas for Gillettes. Six Gillettes and a Merkur Classic LH later, and I have one for every day of the week. :biggrin1:

Curious-- how do you like the Salton Mug Warmer? There is another device I have seen referenced-- a hot shot or something. I reallly have trouble keeping my mug warm and the feel of hot lather beats cold any day of the week, not to mention it just seems to work better.

Fortunately, we have a double sink setup, so half is all mine.

Yes, that's a mug warmer. I saw it in a picture Scotto (I think) used in a review. I found the bowl at Cost Plus and it fits perfectly on the warmer.
Currently, I use it like so:
1. Make a cup of tea.
2. Put the remaining water from the kettle into the white mug.
3. Turn on the warmer.
4. Put the brush in the mug and put the mug on the warmer.
5. Shower.
6. Lather up in the bowl with the warm brush.
7. Keep the lather bowl on the warmer.
Curious-- how do you like the Salton Mug Warmer?
It really works out well. It doesn't get too hot, just enough to keep the lather warm. You don't get too much evaporation. I've also heard about the Hot Pot, but since I've started using the leftover kettle water, HPAD hasn't set in.... yet...

 GOONERS!!
Thanks again for all of the comments/feedback!
