Boy did I get a great shave today! First time using the D R Harris shaving soap and it was wonderful. It rivaled any of my creams with the quantity and richness of lather. I dialed open my Progress a little more than usual and had at it. My Savile Row 231 did a marvelous job of whipping up more than enough lather for 4 passes and another half pass around the chin and jawline.

Austin, it was very nice. I tend to prefer more of a sealer/toner ASB vs one that provides more moisturizing characteristics. My favorite balms would probably be the Milk, C&E, Skin Food, and Feather. I'll be trying out my new Body Shop ASB tomorrow, and based on the clerk's assessment, will be light as well. As winter approaches, I'm curious if I'll find the ones that provide a little more moisturizing to my liking such as my T&H and L'Occitane.

New stuff today. St. Charles Citrus Pie Shaving Soap and St. Charles New Spice Cologne. Good stuff! The razor is a Barber's Pet #421, lather applied by my trusty Shavmac #181 brush.

Love the soap and EDT. Just placed another order.

The aftershave has a touch of menthol or alcohol in it that provides just the right amount of soothing. I found it to be a bit viscous; very similar to T&H product. I feel the form factor could be more user friendly. I would like to see a pump rather than the tip open cap. Have to shake the aluminum bottle fairly vigorously to dispense the product.

I too had a problem with the ink from the label ending up on my vanity counter. I removed the remaining labels and placed them on the underside of the cover.

Over all I'm very pleased. With the above mentioned changes, this will definitely become part of my daily rotation.

I just got my St. Charles goodies in the mail yesterday, and immediately I had the same thought you did. I opened the a/s, smelled it and thought "me likey" and then realized that squeezing the metal container to dispense the product was getting me absolutely nowhere. I think the containers are very nice looking, and the atomizer on the cologne functions just fine, but darned if it ain't near impossible to get stuff out of that A/S top. It seems like it'll be easier just to treat it like a screw-top, and remove the cap when I want to get some A/S.

It reminds me of an arts and crafts project we did in summer camp. Rubbed colorful crayons of all hues on paper without regard to pattern. After covering the entire sheet in scrubbed on colors, covered the colored wax with a coat of black. Then used a scribe to scratch a picture through the black into the color... (50's)
