Those SCOUNDRELS!
Pat, what have they done to you?
By the way, how do you like the GFT creams? I tried Lime but wasn't overly thrilled... the violet looks like it might be a winner, tho'

I'm a big fan!! (I reviewed the Rose here (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6656&highlight=trumper%27s+rose) as part of last month's Reviewapalooza, voting taking place now (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7525)!) I think the Rose and the Violet are very similar in terms of shaving performance and strength of scent. I tried a sample of the Lime, but didn't care for it nearly as much as the T&H Limes. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the Violet if you're interested in it -- it seems very popular and has performed really well for me.
Eh, come to think of it, I might be able to find some room in there for some Castle Forbes (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7525)... *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Hey Pat, looks good, but one question:
Where's the rest of it?
Actually, thats a nice collection of creams you've got there. Good work.

Pat,
Don't worry. In another 50 days, it won't double.
IT WILL TRIPLE!!!!!:thumbup1:

Well... the B&B forum brush is whereabouts unknown, my Coates is on eBay (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7537), and my Tabac is in Germany somewhere. My Taylor's Avacado is waiting for me at QED, and my Castle Forbes... is waiting to find out the verdict on my writing talent
I'm going to pick up a few more Mama Bear soaps as soon as I can work out a way to keep the lather warm. I want to pick up some Tom's of Maine, but we're getting a new Whole Foods here soon, so I can get it sans shipping fees. There's a Nordstrom here where I can pick up AOS stuff too, but I'm still waffling on whether I actually want it. I've also been toying around with the idea of picking up some unsecented cream and adding aromatherapy-type essential oils for scent.

Very cool! The stuff you'll be able to get from Whole Foods could easily enlargen your collection:
Weleda Shave Cream
Weleda ASB
Herban Cowboy ASB
Tom's of Maine (x2)
Burts's Bees Bay Rum Cologne (just re-released in last week)
Myriad of body soaps
Toothpastes
Also, I like the Avalon Organics line of products. I've almost got the entire line of lavender-scented products covered (hand wash, face wash, face milk, face lotion, shampoo & conditioner, body wash, body lotion)

plus Thayer's witch hazel, maybe some pure glycerin...
The first 50 days are the hardest, except for the next 50 days, which are even harder. After that, it all starts to go downhill, and you'll completely fall apart.

Yeah, I know that feeling. Before finding this forum (definitely less than 50 days ago), I was happy with one razor, one brand of shaving soap, one shaving cream (just for travelling), 2 aftershaves, and my 2 old brushes. Now I count 3 razors, 5 soaps, 5 creams, and 8 aftershaves, and more stuff on the way. At least I've stuck with my 2 old brushes!

Nice collection.
I was expecting a diary of photos of all the cuts you'd done over the first fifty days.

For now- resistance is futile!
Pat,
Don't worry- it looks like a nice start. Now begin planning for another area(shave den) or cabinet to hold the rest of your stuff. having used only 50 days out of the year(about 1/7 of what's available), you have some catching up to do. :wink2:

I know, I know... uugh... the problem is that I rent, so I can't go too hog-wild with hanging extra shelves on the wall. And my bathroom is tiny -- the sink is just a sink... no countertop, so I've just got the top of the toilet tank to set things aside from in the cabinet. Keeping in mind that I have to save room for non-shaving items, of course. Sooner or later, though, it may get to the point where I ask myself "I don't really floss that often, do I?" and chuck it out so that my next cream purchase has room to breathe.

A single, cheap, shelf about 7 inches above the toilet tank is great for keeping things in reach, and you can still put things on top of the tank.

Not enough brushes, I think. Six is a good number: a different brush each day, and one day of no-shave.

I'm holding out for the B&B forum brush... we poor graduate students have to save our pennies and carefully medicate our early-stage SBAD :wink2:

You have all of that space above the toilet, check it out:

No screws into the wall and you can take it with you when you move!

I barely have any room in the bathroom for the stuff I currently have... I think I'll have to break up with my girlfriend just so I can start using the part of the medicine cabinet where she puts her toothbrush/toothpaste.

I don't have quite so much, only because I'm a poor bastard (and it's only been 21 days).:001_tongu Still stuck with a boar hair brush and my Sensor, but I've got 3 creams and a soap - Proraso, Tom's of Maine Calendula, KMF Lime, and a Col Conk soap of Bay Rum scent. Plus, 3 bars of bath soap from Whole Foods. As for a new brush and razor - well, Christmas AND my b-day are just around the corner and my mama loves me.... Unfortunately, my home town has lame department stores, so I'll have to order most everything.

It's funny what forums get you into buying. I'm a complete DE newb, and only yesterday ordered a Merkury HD, Israelli blades, and some Nancy Boy cream. Like others I'm waiting for the B&B brush to be available, because I dislike buying something "okay" when I can save up and get the real-deal.
Basenotes.com got me into collecting colognes, and I suspect I should join an interior decorating forum as well, because I'm quickly running out of shelf space in the bathroom

Who says you have to store your shaving supplies in the bathroom? If you have a large number of soaps and creams, pick up one of those plastic containers that slides under the bed and store them there. More room, and SWMBO won't be staring at them daily...possible allowing you to buy more to store under the bed!

I have managed to almost fill an entire closet (outside of the bathroom)
