View Full Version : working out after a morning shave...any problems with this?

Every morning I wash my face with some random Clean and Clear wash that doesn't cost too much and does a good job (I only exfoliate weekly now since I'll break out like a mother if I do it more than that). I then shave and shower.
Started going to community college a week or so ago, and I work out before class. I'm assuming the answer's no, but would working out an hour after having washed my face reverse the whole process I did that morning?

I don't think you'll have any problems. I run the obstacle course on base three days a week and I always shave before I go (gotta love the military). Afterward, I shower (again) and put on some unscented ASB and have zero problems.
YMMV, but if my skin can stand up to sand and sweat I think you'll be fine.

That's definately a relief...it's a pain lugging around an extra ditty bag.

I am going to say yes if you do not wash your face again. You do not want to have sweat, body oils and dust in your face all day.

 Nice.
After working out, give your face a quick cold water rinse at the sink to get rid of that sweat and oil. You should be fine. I wouldn't wash your face with soap more than once a day, it can cause your skin to dry out and produce excess oil. Many gentlemen here don't use soap on their faces at all--check out the oil cleansing method (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=26493).

Could mineral oil possibly work instead of castor, or is that a no?

Hmmm, from my understanding, the castor oil acts as the cleansing agent for your skin...so I'm not sure it can be substituted like the vegetable oils can. I could be wrong, though. If you post your question in the oil cleansing thread, I'm sure someone with better knowledge can give you a more definitive answer.

It's like when there's a problem with your piza delivery, but then the problem gets solved anyhow.
"Oh man, my zaa order is late ... I think the dude got lost."
"Don't worry, dude, it'll work out."
(ding dong!)
"Whooah!!"
