Ok story goes that I got an office with my new job. Great right, well as the addage goes "nothing is for free", the ventialtion sucks in here and this has lead to a small problem; Since starting at my new job my skin has become more oily than normal. Now it is summer here in Montreal and my skin does general get oiler in the summer but not like this. I have a jar of oxy pads in my drawer and i am going through about 4 to 5 pads ever 4 hours just to get rid of the shine and grease. I'm go through these things like hot cakes. At first i though mabye because i was using the oxy pads soo much that my skin was over compensating, so i stop for two weeks and maintained my daily routine, breakout resulted. So since i have no choice but to cleanse i figure I might as well just make my own.....
So does anyone make their own astringent and if so would you be inclined to share your experience and /or recipe:biggrin:

Get Thayers Witch Hazel. It is a much better product.

Another thing you could do is use blotting paper or papier poudre. I think The Body Shop makes their own. Places like Sally's also carry them. You just tear the little sheet from the "book" and press it on the skin to absorb the oil.
I think is better than using a stringent because on the long run the stringent will cause your glands to overcompensate and produce more oil. This stuff just absorb it.

Thayer w/ alcohol is nice-lemon is my preference. Reason I prefer the alcohol b/c adds a little cooling effect:)
