I brush my teeth twice a day, use a tongue scraper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongue_scraper) and drink mint tea. That does it for me.

Drink a lot of COLD water. Think of it as rinsing your mouth every so often and cold water causes all the pores and taste buds in your mouth to close up making it a little harder for the bacteria fill up your mouth again

Tongue scrapers definitely help. Also, when brushing make sure to brush the inside of your cheeks, top of your mouth, etc...not just your teeth. Mint Listerine for 30 seconds once or twice a day works wonders as well.

I doubt that there are significant differences. They are extremely simple plastic things.

In a pinch, an Altoids might suffice.

If you ask them at your pharmacist, they probably only keep a few in stock, and usually just a single brand as well. Nothing complicated about those things.

any recomendation for products with good results for bad breath.

While many of the recommendations have to do with the mouth, the problem could be deeper down in your GI tract. Oft times a bad breath is a sign of a problem with the digestive process and not the mouth. There are various products out there to help with that. Or it could also be your diet, in what and how you eat. You know how it is, as George Carlin talked about eating a hot dog and belching two days later and tasting it. Go to some health food stores or vitamin stores and look around and ask some questions, or you could go to a doctor about it.

Can't live without tongue scaper!
You can also put baking soda on your tongue then brush your tongue.

All you need is to:

brush after meals
floss once a day
use the tongue scraper
drink plenty of water/ dry mouth or dehydration causes bad breath.

If you're healthy and do this, you shouldn't have a problem at all.

If you still have a problem (not related to coffee, onion, garlic or other food odors) then you should see your doctor (It could be digestive) or dentist or periodontist because it could be gum disease or tooth decay.
