Charles gave me a couple of sample Feathers and some Israeli Personna's and I just tried the Feathers and WOW!! I was using Derbys before, and it's like night and day. I finally got no resistance whatsoever and my shave is the closest I have ever shaved. Only one small nick that I didn't feel happen. I hope the next shave is just as good!!

Congratulations!
I use Feathers too. I may get a nick from time to time but it usually stops just with cold water. I love the close shaves.

I'm on day two using a Feather from my sample pack, and I'm 99% sold as that being my mainstay blade. The Gillette Swedes come in at a close second for me.

Richie, where did you get 100 of these awesome blades from?

Same thing happened with me. I went from Merkurs to Derbys to Feathers and never went back. Close shaves, no irritation. The Feathers will nick you sometimes, but you gotta love em.

I often wonder what it would be like to shave with one of those Feather AC razors with the "Professional Super" blades.............

You used to be able to get 100 Feathers at www.cottonblossoncrafts.com for $25, but accoridng to leisureguy, there are other places to get bulk purchases. That used to be the place when I bought up 100. It will take me a while to use them up, so I hope by the time I am done they have them again.

Same story here. The only time I don't use a Feather is when I use a straight.

I confess I'm still a bit nervous to try one. I've been wet shaving for 5 months or so but recently have been using a straight. It's out to be re-honed and I now must use my trusty HD once again. Debating whether or not to try the Feathers, not sure if my technique will stand the test. I'll give them a try over a weekend perhaps so my face destruction may have time to heal.

So where's a good place to buy Feathers online, for cheap?

I confess I'm still a bit nervous to try one.

I felt the same way.

I've been using the Swedes & getting very good results. I had 1 more left & was about to order some more but then thought, Waitasec ... I have some Feathers from a sampler pack I got on ebay. Might as well try those before spending any more cash. Especially with the way I've been laying out cash on shaving stuff lately -- but I digress.

Anyway. Popped a Feather into the Aristocrat, took my time & really paid careful attention to what I was doing -- and that yielded the closest, most irritation-free shave I've had yet! It wasn't entirely clean -- had a nick or 2 on my neck -- but nothing serious.

The point is, these blades are sharp, smooth, & cut thru my stubble like buttah. And ... in the end, it's just another blade. They're sharp, yeah, and maybe they might not be for you. But in the end, it's just a blade. Yes, you need to pay attention. Yes, you need to be careful. But it's just a blade. You can handle it. Just take your time.

Good luck!

Evan

Yeah I didn't mean to sound so whiney about it, just that I've got a lot of "face showing" events this week so I need to find an off week or weekend.

I totally hear you. After all, a girl's gotta do what she can to look her best, right?? (from one girl to another. :001_rolle)
