While shopping for new/used, (new to me), Gillette Double Es in antique stores, I came across this shaving mug/brush. Probably a lot of history to it and I couldn't resist since I needed a larger mug for my large soaps. Has anyone seen anything similar?

Jerry, that looks very interesting. Let us know what you find out. It may have even belonged to the fuhrer!

I googled Hutschenreuther....it started manufacturing china in the early 1800's and is still making china and it is known for its figurines...

But I have not found the WWII connection, yet...I have e-mailed a couple of guys with the pictures...

maybe Ron can google it in German and dig a little bit...

but i will see what comes of these e-mails....

dying question...what did you pay for it ???

Mark:
Thanks for all the help on this! That's what I paid for it also. It was originally marked $125.00 but was marked down. I was hoping it did belong to the the fuhrer but not likely now, was probably just Rommel's! That'll be my story and I'll stick to it. I still haven't made up my mind to use it yet or not, probably won't. It'll be a nice conversation piece however as I evangalize my new wetshaving religion to my friends.
