I don't floss as often as I should so the hygenist usually earns her keep scraping the tartar off my teeth when I go to the Dentist for my annual checkup/cleaning. This is something I hate on an annual basis.

Based on a recommendation, after last years checkup/cleaning my wife and I each bought a Crest Spin Brush Pro battery operated toothbrush which we have been faithfully using every day, still being a little lax on the flossing.

Last week when I went in for my '08 checkup/cleaning, the hygenist actually asked me if I had been to another Dentist the week before because my teeth literally didn't need any work. I was in and out in about 15 minutes, it usually takes an hour or so, what took the longest time was developing the x-rays which BTW didn't show any cavities.

So, if you gents have the same issue with tartar I had, consider one of these spinning toothbrushs.

Thanks for the tip. I have a terrible buildup problem, which is why I brush and floss religiously. (It seems to be a genetic thing.) However, I still get a lecture every time I go to the dentist. There's not much more I can do at home and I'm almost to the point of going every 4 months instead of 6. We've been needing a new electric toothbrush, so this looks interesting.

that one's pretty awesome. I started using the sonicare toothbrush over 5 years ago and haven't used a manual brush since. The dentist can tell the difference whether you use a manual or a good electric.

I used to use a Spin Brush Pro, but about two years ago I picked up the Sonicare brush. BIG difference for me. YMMV

Just think, if the Spin Brush Pro is the bottom of the barrel of electrics, think what a much better brush will do!!

I just recently got a Sonicare Flexcare toothbrush (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Sonicare-FlexCare-Rechargeable-Toothbrush/dp/B000UK2W4C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1200354628&sr=1-1). This is the first electric toothbrush I've ever used and so far I'm really liking it. We'll see what the dentist says in a few months.
