I just received this beautiful 4-sided pasted paddle strop today from TheWellShavedGentleman.
The handle is integral to the strop (not attached) and it has 3.0, 1.0 & 0.5 micron diamond paste and 0.5 micron chromium oxide paste. It is one hefty paddle strop.
Also, it is the first one of that model that Tony made!
:thumbup1:
I can't wait to use it on my DOVO.

Tony keeps improving his products. He doesn't leave himself much room for improvement, since his stuff is already top shelf.

Thank you guys. We will be changing these slightly by adding a bit of color to them. I am guessing more people would desire a stained look, maybe a meduim honey brown color, instead of the pale natural maple color with just a clear finish on it.
My wide paddles will all be going one piece as well sometime in January/February when current stock is depleted, again with a medium stain.
Have a great Christmas everyone,
Tony

Any chance of a wide-tracked, four-sided paddle? (something like a 4-door vs. coupe design)
Seriously.

I would also be interested.

Wider also means heavier, a lot heavier. I did 1 3/4" paddles for a while with separate handles and they were like clubs. Once you get past 1 1/2" or so the weight overcomes any advantage to width. Better off with a pair of two sides at that point.

That's nice....sounds like a nice Valentine's Day gift from SWMBO:wink:
I also obtained one of these strops, pasted exactly the same (3, 1, 0.5, 0.5 green). Mine arrived two days later - maybe I have serial number 2, 3? My spouse snagged the box, wrapped it up and put it under the tree. Anyway, this has truly proven to be a magic stick and has returned my blade to its original, fresh from the honemeister, form. I've been experimenting with a shave off of each side in the progression, to get some idea of the effect of each paste. Two things became quickly obvious - it doesn't take many swipes to make a difference, and also green chromium really makes a smooth edge. Suweet! Right now, I'm not missing the 0.25. I wonder if I will later...
Also, I DO like the natural maple. Thank-you, Tony!

For touch up, I've found 8 - 12 passes on the Green Chromide to be wonderful. A little duller and 5-10 passes on the 1 and 0.5 Diamond usually does the trick.

And I just finished applying Early American stain to 20 of these <g>.
Now that some are done I am liking a bit of color even more. We have some wide 2 sided, one piece paddles in the works too. I'll play with a prototype for a week ro two before making them a regular item.
"magic stick".....I like that. It was for me when I started out and that is what lead me to make my own.
