I thought I would share this. So I'm 22, I have some acne issues and decided to eliminate variables in my daily routine to come up with something that works. I won't bore you with the research details, but it was basically trial and error over a few months with different products.
What I have found to work best is this routine:
1. In the morning (6:30 AM) wash face with any acne wash (I use target brand cause it's cheap) and rinse. The next part I found to be important, pat dry your face with a towel whose sole purpose is to dry your face. Last apply witch hazel (I use Thayer's Rose).
2. When I return home from work (5:00 PM) repeat step 1.
3. Before bed (typically 11:00 PM) wash face with moisturizing soap, not acne wash, dry face with "face" towel. Then apply witch hazel.
After having used this method for the past 1.5 months my acne has cleared significantly to basically non-existent.
*one note, I don't use the same towel for more than 1 week. I also may not hold to the routine on weekends but do try.
