So every so often, I either get a bad shave, get a bad blade, or overshave. When this happens, I get some bad irritation and bumps, and when the redness is contrasted against my pale skin, it looks terrible. When this happens in the morning and I have to leave for work, I try to minimize the redness and irritation by using either hydrocortisone, lotions, witch hazel, etc etc. Sometimes I don't achieve any results and begin to apply everything hoping that it will go away, it never does. Are there any effective remedies that I should know about?
P.S. the bumps, irritation last a few days until everything si healed, so one bad shave can set me back for a few days.

Have you tried an alum block immediately after shaving?

Shaving at night (if you can) could also combat this, by giving you more time to heal before work (but also more time for hair to grow).

Perhaps aloe after the alum as well. Best of luck.

Well, I just ordered an alum block from mama bear. Hopefully this will make a difference and help hide those blemishes.

My suggestion: Speick AS followed by coral skin food or Proraso P&P (really calms the burn).
