View Full Version : Welcome!!
Heya Fellas.... WELCOME!!!
A TON of cool changes, upgrades and features on the way! A more formal welcome, along with the purpose etc of the forum etc will hopefulyl get posted tomorrow. For the time being.... have a blast, play around, and enjoy!
Suggestions are ALWAYS welcome!!!
Some neato features this forum will have you can play around with....
When you click "reply" to a message, if you scroll down you will see an "additional options" section. Within that sectio nalonf there are some REALLY neat features. You can attach files/pics (as easily as you would with an email) right into the post with the "manage attachments" button. You can subscribe to the thread - and get immediate - or daily/weekly updates via email - how sweet is that? On a for Sale/trade thread, you can get immediate emails notifications on JUST that one thread when gents reply!! You can also rate threads. Look on the "quick links" option on the heading bar - and you can add "buddies" view all of their new posts, just view the new posts (since your last visit - and you can also choose to ignore certain users) Also notice the calendar feature? We can schedule chat's, events, deadlines, auto b-day notifiers, the works.... this is just the beginning gentleman, as we plan on REALLY making this place soar!!!

Greetings all,
As I always told (nagged?) my children, "It's is not how you fall that matters, but how you get up that counts!"
Best regards to all,

looking forward to the new site.
vBulletin is awesome, have worked with it often.
You may consider looking into some plugins like vBadvanced (http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.php?) which has tools that organize things nicely without much hassle. The gallery one is quite good for sharing pics and CPMS makes a nice front page with changing content.

Also, I'm not sure if it is in your "vision" for the site, but I think that the shaving sites (and many of the grooming sites in general) are lacking a well organized review/rating database.
It would be AWESOME if you could set up something like this using one of these tools to avoid redundant posts about particular products and have a growing feedback/rating database to help people choose whats best for them.

Checkout what this can look like here (http://www.cyclingforums.com/reviews/showcat.php?cat=2) Imagine how cool that'd be!

and even more review/rating scripts (http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Reviews_and_Ratings/?action=formsubmit&listing_sorting_order=hits&listing_sorting_direction=des)
Cool - thanks for the link Chew! Excellent suggestions and I'll have Nick set them up as soon as he wakes up ;)

Nick here, awake and semi-alert. Thanks for the suggestions jefti. I admit that sometimes when I've got much better things to be doing, I'll spend hours sifting through hotscripts.com. Joel and I are currently looking through all the links you provided, and I think everyone would agree that a legitimate reviewing system is a must have.
Woo Hoo!! I am the newest member, so far!!
A hearty welcome goes out to everyone who joined today! What do you guys think of the new logo in the top left corner?

Joel, I feel stupid but the only thing that appears on my screen is vBulletin. Perhaps it's my firewall. :(
hold the shift key then click refresh (while holding shift) should come up.

Thanks Joel :) ! The little fella popped up.
I think shaving soaps and creams should be under the same section. You could then have a separate section for the "other " types of soaps etc.

Mike - that certainly is an option.... our goal is to have 20,000 members by this time next year - so I invision there being an incredible amount of posts in one forum if they were linked....
Any reason in particular you think the two should be intermingled? If you guys want them combined - it will be done!
Maybe you don't have to mingle them Joel, but
could shaving cream be moved up ^ under soaps so the two are right there together? and they'd be beside brushes as well.
Jus' a suggestion.

This place is as much yours as mine! It shall be done! - also we can throw up a poll on combining the 2 forums!
Ron..... keep your pants on.... but we are going to install a TON of smiley options.

Got a custom shave stick and cologne ready to rock and roll in the future - and a few other brush projects that are slowly in the works. Also looking into some cheap towel steamers and a few other cool tidbits!

How about a Haircare heading? (as seen elsewhere) Might be more useful than clay masks?
