Unexpected surprise for $6.49 Russian Gillette Rubie DE

Here's another angle, for those of you interested in getting one, both the Sodial and Rubie took about the same time to arrive (3-4 weeks) the Rubie seems to be a better made razor though. $ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390954804.787364.jpg

I have used the Rubie on and off for six years. Makes a great holiday razor. Never need to worry about it getting scratched or damaged. Bought it in China and has Chinese packaging. So I'm assuming, made in China.

Actually starting to use it to shave my head, with it being fairly mild.

I used Rubie exclusively for about 15 years. No issues whatsoever.
I then switched to a quality vintage DE razor only due to aesthetic and nostalgic reasons.

Okay, all this discussion urged me to un-dig my easily 25+ old Rubie and even attach a new stainless SSC47 handle to it.
Blade: NOS Dorco ST-300.
Wow! So unexpectedly smooth and efficient. 3-day stubble, BBS in three passes, no irritation or nicks whatsoever.
Apparently, they copied the perfect geometry of an antique Gillette rather well.
So I'm going to use this razor regularly again after more than a decade-long hiatus. Thanks B&B enablers :)
