Brooks seats are my favorite! I bought a beat Brooks B72 off ebay about 10 years ago. It was from the 6o's and in sad shape, so I oiled, re-rivetted, butcher & tied it. Turned out great.

It is to remove excess material and remove sag from seat works wonders. A brooks seat is adjustable, but can be stretched out to a hammock.
After doing this on an old one; I would definitely do it on a new one of mine.
