Not the original formula, but the type. Is Aqua Velva Ice Blue the original Aqua Velva type, or was it another that's not on the market? I remember the original Aqua Velva, but don't remember it called anything but Aqua Velva.

It was just called Aqua Velva and I think it was yellow as far as I know.

That top photo is of the Spanish cologne version of Aqua Velva that is still produced today. It's not the original version by any means.

I read that the change to "ice blue" took place in 1957.

I'm thinking the color change to Ext Violet 2, Blue 1 dye was the only change from the original ingredients.
A year or so ago, I remember the Wikipedia page for Aqua Velva said that it was originally released by Williams as a mouthwash. That line in the Wiki page has now been removed. I wonder if that was just a myth.

I always thought that original aqua velva was green as that is the most popular variety up here. I guess blue is their flagship scent though.
