After working on the razor most of the day I finally coaxed "shave ready" out of it. Nice shave today :) night and day from yesterday same razor!

Proraso white pre-shave, Fine lavender soap, Omega brush, Blue Tip with Astra blade, witch hazel, Clubman bay rum. No styptic pencil this time because I remembered to hold the razor at the centre of gravity and go light and slow.

16th OCtober Shave

Great shave with the Stirling!! The scent is nice and cologne-ish. Can't put my finger on what it is though. Smells nice:laugh:
Getting concistently good shaves out of the OC now... and finished of with a healthy splash of the Moos. Love the Moos(e)...lol

@ronweston, how do you like the Parker 24c? Nice shot!

I hadn't used the Parker since early May (!), partly because I had never really gotten a good, blood-free shave from it. Perhaps my technique is a little better, having tried various Old Types and other OCs, because today it performed very well. I'll change blades next time I use it. I had no nicks or irritation and it was about as close to BBS as you can get without being there. The 24C was the first OC I purchased. I'm not sure I would recommend it as a first OC to a beginner but I think it will be a fine shaver for me now.
