I'll be perusing one of NY's largest Asian areas in Flushing today. Can anyone recommend any good restaurants or "don't miss" stores? I haven't been there in a while, and my old haunts are probably all gone.

    TIA

I can recommend the KFC on 149th St. :001_tt1:

  3. For Dim sum, Ocean Jewel 133-30 39th Ave.

For Malyasian, Santosa Malyasian - 39-07 Prince St.

I can't help you for shopping. I usually get dragged around by my wife to cosmetics stores. What are you looking for in shopping?

  4. There's a small store on Main street that sells Merkurs, strops, and I think Omega brushes actually.

As for food, just pick any place at random- you really can't go wrong with Flushing!

Slightly off topic, isn't there a great Russian store in Flushing?

Edited The M&I is in Brighton Beach.

  6. Tung Shing on Queens Blvd. I long for their noodles in brown sauce.

  7. I second Ocean Jewel for dim sum.

Been there dozens of times, but not in the last ten years. It's Great. We were a bit late for dim sum, so we hit a random joint on Main St.

  9. It's been a while for me as well but I remember some outstanding Indian restaurants. One was a diner I think.

  10. The Diner's probably Jackson Diner, in Jackson Heights.
