My new Dottie shave bowl, and Ikon #102 slant with bulldog handle.

Bowl like that almost makes me wish I didn't face lather. I got an Ikon 102 as well this month. Also, picked up some excellent CRSW Select soaps.

I have just scored two nice vintage Gillette razors. One is A D2 super speed razor with just a few freckles under the table. And an H2 gillette Ball end Tech.

Anyway i I got these two razors and an old shave brush and mug for $8 at a yard sale.

Wilkinson Sword Empire set

This set was being offered by an antique dealer at a fund raiser for our local historical society. She was asking $20. Seemed high to me. I asked what she could do. I ended up paying $15. Some portion of that was donated to the organization (what? $1.50 or something?).

A few days in Japan, and couldn't resist these.


Just finishing off my current bottle of Lucido, which (to me) is scentless, but I really like it. It doesn't seem as widespread as I recall, hope that's not a sign of loosing popularity and it disappears.

MG5 is a favorite of mine, do have 3/4's of a bottle in my rotation, but I couldn't resist.

an ebay adventure.

couldn't sleep one night about ten days ago. went browsing. came upon a buy-it-now listing for some brushes. spotted a couple of butterscotch simpsons strewn among a mess of rather pedestrian brushes. 2:30am. clicked.

ten days later this arrives:




36 brushes and a strop:


but, there were some decent goodies among all the other inside:

Simpsons BB3 for "Made Especially for Otto Pomper Chicago." Looks like a Persian Jar.

My aristocrat arrived today from a fellow B&Ber!
Definitely user grade, but that's what this one is for, plus I only paid 25 and a song for it.
Got a fantastic shave, much better than the VDH I was using before
I think it's a '46-7 but please correct me if I'm wrong

Here's my first Gillette Fatboy! It's a G2 and in pretty good condition. I'll work on cleaning it up a little more before I use it, but I can already tell I'm going to enjoy having this razor.

With summer just about here I thought I'd better give this Proraso Green menthol thing a go. Tried the Red before, but never the Green. Picked up some Musgo body soap as well to complement it.

I got all these at a flea market in Winnipeg this past sunday......... $90 for everything. (Dubl Duck Strop, Engelswerk and J.A. Henckels straight razors.... I have no idea what model or age any of them are either.....lol
Good deal or not? I'm happy with them......
