Congratulations on the coti! Looks like a nice stone. Let us know what your honing experience is like there are lots of great guys here that can offer you wonderful feedback 
As for Lapping film it is much higher quality and the abrasive is plastic backed rather than paper. It is the stuff they use to polish fiber optics with so it has to be really fine quality to do that. It works fantastic on razors as well and easy to do.
