Anyone using a shim with the 2011 R41?

How did it affect the razor?

I searched the thread for "shim" and came up with nothing. Odd.

I would use a shim with the R41 2011 only if I was suicidal!

I may have ended my RAD, picked up an '11 R41 from a fellow B&B member. What can I say, this thing is amazing, my only complaint is that the handle is a bit slick when wet. It's beautiful, hefty, ergonomic, extremely efficient, an oh the sound, that sound is lovely.

I actually got rid of a 2011 R41 and then bought another. It's a lovely tool -- cuts CLOSE. Gives me a closer shave than any other razor I've used, though I have to remember to go slow or I draw blood!

I borrowed a R41 from a friend of mine but I just couldn't handle it as it was far more aggressive than I ever thought. I had to be SLOW ,very very careful and had to apply very light pressure. But the result was not much more satisfying than a standard open comb so I don;t think I'll ever purchase one.
