Making a hone from Blue Stone

Is this a crazy or brilliant idea?

There is much of this rock on the big island of hawaii. Very hard. I can bust it up with a sledge, then use my angle grinder with a masonry grinder and shape it and flatten it.

Then flatten one side with a lapping plate?

Suggestions, comments, outright laughter?

I have a hone made from blue vulcanic rock from tenerife. I realise it's probably not the same thing bit mine's a pretty good finisher.

Try it out. It's the only way to know.
