Kansas City Meet up October 25, 26, 2014

In addition to the members who brought stuff for door prizes, they also brought give aways for newbies and to share with other members. The 2 items I receved were from LBussy and joamo. Lee, (LBussy) giving me some of his P238 and its great. It has a very nice almond scent and the lather is great. Joe (joamo) "paid the piper" with some veg and he personalized it for me. I found out at the meet up that I am one of the "chosen" for the veg. :w00t:

Darn. I had several other pictures I wanted to share that I took on my cell phone but the files got corrupted. Lets see if they are on the "cloud".

You're quite welcome and don't forget to add the "Knight of the Veg Table" to your signature. :001_smile

Now the big question, was your wife chosen as well?

LOL!! Will do Joe. I put it on this morning but she didn't say anything. I'll have to have her give it a sniff after its been on for a minute or 2.

I forgot to post this here at B&B.....

Gentlemen (and ladies),

Let me add my thanks to everyone who was involved, attended or was an inspiration in spirit for such a great meeting. As straight neophyte, I am stunned at how much information and expertise was on display over the last two days. Thanks to Ray for hosting the event and having such a top notch plan for food, beverages, seating, tables and everything that went into producing the event. Thanks for the ribs, burgers, dogs, salads, donuts, coffee and all the supplies that went with it. Thanks to Sham for the amazing tortas and sauces. They were quite delicious. Thanks to Kevin, Mike, Chris, Randy, Ron, Dave, Scott and anyone I forgot for all the tips that were freely given to those of us that needed help. Thanks to the vendors and artisans that donated items for the raffle. Thanks to John for donating the Torrey that I won in the raffle. Special thanks to Victor for honing the Torrey for me so I have a great edge to which I can compare my humble efforts.

I truly had a great weekend meeting each and every person at the event. You are all gentlemen (and ladies) to admire. Friendly, welcoming, unselfish in nature. Just great examples for one to follow. I hope I can make it to another meet up at some point. This was an awesome weekend that I really appreciated.

As well as having a great time at the meet, I was able to sample The Veg courtesy of Warpiper and found out that I am indeed "chosen". Fortunately for my wife and friends, I did not bring any home with me.

Victor, I won some Veg in a PIF, should arrive by tomorrow. If I find out I haven't been chosen I can send it your way. :p

I've used it several times and my wife hasn't said anything yet and I'm rather surprised. She has a highly sensitive sense of smell and has no problem telling me that something smells and bothers her. I don't think I'll push my luck and wear the veg from time to time as a secret guilty pleasure. :Veg:

Great pictures. Reminds me of my three years that I spent stationed in Scotland (Holy Loch - Dunoon). We were fortunate enough to attend and enjoy the true and original Highland Games in the Cowal Peninsula.

Love the pipes and fife and drums, love the Tennent's Lager and 80 schilling.

Frank

Lucky dog! That is on my list of places to go and visit. The games in the US and Canada are pretty good too. I favorite games were up at Loon Mountain NH. If you like the fife and drums like I do, then check out the Middlesex County Volunteers. They're pretty good. We used to march in several parades together. Our drummers used to compare notes.
