How can I go wrong for $5?
Casswell and Massey Number Six, or perhaps their Jockey Club. Simple and clean, not overpowering, but nice as things are warming up.

Em's Place. The cucumber splash in particular. Though she has many scents. BTW, I know you said you don't care for menthol, but her menthol splash is a worthwhile departure from the typical cheap smelling/cooling menthol stuff. I found it didn't cool or tingle much at all, just refreshing.
Spring is when I roll out the bay rums. I like Clubman Virgin and Masters. You seem to prefer high end, so maybe someone else can suggest a high end bay rum.

Call me crazy, but I've never found Bay rum appealing.

It's very mild. Soothing. Not much scent at all. Nice if you are going to wear an EdT.
Lime Sec by Pinauld, you may also want to try some of the Adidas line of aftershaves. Gillette Cool Wave is nice too, all of these AS's are fairly inexpensive so if you don't like them you are not out that much money.
