GEM Micromatic DE Blades

Does anyone know anything about these? I just received 3 unopened packs with a Gem razor, though not a Micromatic. Also spotted and bought a sealed brick of 10 packs, 50 blades, for $14.99 on ebay.

Has any one tried these and are they any good, if not rusted, or are what I presume are pre WW2 blades strictly collectors items? The brick of 10 packs looks new so apparently stored in the dark as the boxes look unfaded.

It's very likely that they're carbon steel blades, which means that even sealed - unless sealed with cosmoline - they're probably very slightly corroded at the edges. If you have a strop for them, that should take the edge corrosion off. mgbbrown talked briefly about this in his post-ww-II Superspeed thread. (last page or two)
