First Straight Shave at 50

Same set up, same prep.
The razor is still passing an HHT, however, I did not get a close shave even with two passes. I was paying attention to blade angle and pressure.
I suspect the blade is not as sharp as I think. After this shave I stropped it on linen for 25 laps and then leather for 30. I used one if my hairs and it had no issue popping the hair the full length of the blade.
Thoughts?

Not all beards are the same, mine is made of steel, and if I leave it for say three days, I am prone to getting razor burn, I find once I've let it for over 2 days, I can get those irritating weepers, problem is that once you get a sore, it takes a week to heal. So I religiously shave everyday, and I rarely get them now. I thought it was about the razors edge being cutting skin off but, on a number of times, going camping, not shaving for a week, I get a weeper just from the toughness of the whiskers. They are literally stabbing my chin, but if I shave everyday I'm fine.
