First Straight Drive

  1. My fear is Over!...baptized myself with a good non descript razor from Larry..
    Anthony Logistics pre shave...
    Uber lather...
    Bluebeard Revenge...backup/cleanup DE...with Astra blade...
Jaw and cheek both sides...slight touch under chin with straight...followed by general overall with DE...
Worst shave that I've had in a while...missed spots...fear of over shaving...
    Witch Hazel
    Aqua Velva
But I grasped and embrace the concept of practice and patience...
DE setup was too mild...coated blade with baby oil... Hope that's OK...
Will try again day after tomorrow...
    Comments and advise... Please ?

  2. welcome to the straight side!! advice i would give is don't feel you MUST shave your whole face first few times out! cheeks are the easiest so start there and move to neck and jawline when you get the confidence up!!! it takes time but is AWESOME once you get it!!! congrats on the new start!

  3. Congrats. It only get easier from here.

  4. Congratulations!

Keep it up, don't rush things and if your lather dries up, STOP and relather (trust me on this one, from experience).

    Patience is a virtue...

  5. Congrats. Concentrate on skin stretching. That's easily missed the first few weeks as it's an extra step typically not done with DEs and carts.

  6. Congrats! I'm still trying to build up the nerve to get my first straight.
