I am recently new to DE shaving. I spent years fighting cartridge razors and would hate shaving before 6-8 days. I had a Gillette slim boy ( which at the time I thought was some old weird thing sitting in my draw) and a mate suggested to try a DE shave. He gave me a blade which hooked me. 8 weeks later I had increased my collection to a merkur futur, 34c, 38c, 2 British slimtwists, a semogue 1305 and merkur futur silvertip, several tubs of cream and blades galore. Last night i received my fist BBS shave from my futur. Before then the futur would cut me (every time). I knew it was a nice shave everything seemed to feel great then I got the alum out. Not a burn. My point to this is stick at it. It took a bit to find the right combinations and technique but I have become in love with DE shaving.....also the wife is much happier lol.

Well done on getting a great shave, and glad to hear the wife's happy about it; although she may not be if you go on buying razors at that rate.
