The Captain is nice but it smells like Christmas cookies to me, a great smell but not what I was looking for in Bay Rum. On the other hand I love Pinaud VI Bay Rum so YMMV!

Just picked up a bottle of Royall Bay Rhum. Very strong hint of clove when first applied but it does settle down nicely with a little time.
If your aftershave talks to you, consider therapy.
I can't believe that no one has mentioned St Charles Shave bay rum... for me it's between this and Domenica... Also, if you want something mellower, Stephan's Bay Rum is awesome.
My favorite bay rum AS is Captain's Choice. My favorite of the Ogallala is the Bay Rum & Sandalwood.
