Arkansas Dunston black?

I bought a 6x2 inch Dunston black stone, it was mistakenly described as a "Surgical Black" in the listing. Its a Natural Whetstones stone. The vendor was willing to take it back but I decided to keep it as I thought it was priced right.

Is this stone useful for SR honing? I understand its not the finisher a surgical black would be. I already use a Norton 4K/8K, where would this stone fit (if at all) in the progression?

I think that would work fine after your 8k. Make sure its flat and broken in. The surface of translucent and black arks really benefit from a good burnishing.
