What's new

Any flashlight/lumen nerds out there?

Congrats on the Streamlight!

I've become really jazzed about magnetic ring user interfaces. Specifically the Jetbeam RRT01 and Sunwayman M11R & V11R. Really intuitive interface that simplifies flashlight use tremendously. No complicated UIs for me.

I used to use California Mag...but not any more.

Currently I use Streamlight TwinTask 3AA. Excellent flashlight. Robust build, Excellent performance.

This will be my next foray into the world of modern illumination. The Thrunite TN12-2014 is slim and trim, easily pocketable, runs off a single 18650 ,and produces 1050 lumens. At $46 it's a steal, and maybe that's what has happened, even the Thrunite website is sold out,and the bay is already full of scalped prices on these.A real bargain,I intend to get an AW 18650 protected cell and a Pila charger for it...That's about $110 for the set up,not bad for this amount of light power in such a small package...

Antique Hoosier

“Aircooled”
NYT story on a house reno in Portland has a gallery that showcases the design as well as shows off a very nice display of the owner's vintage flashlight collection.
