What's new

Am I a shave geek? Or am I just cooler than everyone else I know?

Geek and cool should never be used in the same sentence.

Which is a good thing. I personally find the concept of "coolness" despicable.

Is there such a thing as a "cool geek." I thought the two terms were mutually exclusive.:wink2:
I think it depends on what side of the poll you're on. I'm a tech. geek, a computer geek, a shaving geek, a musician, which makes me a gear head (geek), etc, etc, etc. . .

So to a tech. lover, to a musician/music lover/gear head, to a computer jockey, to a fellow Str8-8 - I'M COOL!!!

That makes you a cool shaving geek man.

That's my story & I'm stikin. . .

You're the coolest shave geek of anyone you know, that's for sure...

My wife has the same reaction to all this nonsense though...she went through my obsessive geekery with other hobbies like vaccuum tube audio equipment, short wave radio, CD collecting, Tommy Bahama shirts, Puma shoes, soccer jerseys...

Sounds like my house. My wife cringes when a radio catches my eye.
She really freaks out when I use "Old Spice" cologne.
She is just now beginning to notice more and more different razors
on my closet shelf.

So, when does one cross the line into geekdom when it comes to shaving? Is it about acquisitions, or bringing "i shave as a hobby" up in conversation? I just want to know when and how I can get my Geek of Shaving card.

What is a geek? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geek

Interestingly enough, according to the origin of "geek" - Ozzy Osbourne
is a geek:

"Formerly, the term referred to a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken, bat, snake or bugs."
