"A proper cup of tea"Not

Was told someone wanted a proper cup of tea. I pulled out the oolong and 24oz tetsubin. I was given the what the >>>> face.

I guess proper tea is in a bag from a yellow box.

I had the oolong, three infusions.

After having loose leaf tears for the past several years, the idea of tea from a bag just doesn't work. And oolong was a great choice. Glad you enjoyed your tea.

Pending further information I'm not convinced that loose tea was the issue. While I would have asked more questions before making tea, in the absence of further clarification I would have assumed that a "proper" cup of tea meant tea in the British tradition:
black tea, probably of Indian or Sri Lankan origin
Brown Betty pot
probably with milk, not skim (although I would have asked before assuming milk)
possibly with sugar (a definite ask)

Ahhh, that's a fine cuppa!
