I think it's subjective to the user. You'd probably get a camp for both.
I have the all metal. It works nicely. I can't comment on the part plastic one.

I have a part plastic one, but haven't used it yet. I'm all Fatboy for this month, so it has to wait another week at least. It is a hard plastic like Bakelite, seems like it should hold the blade as well as all metal. The handle seems crazy long for my taste though.

Yeah, I've noticed. Early stages of RAD already.
It's not just me?
I have all three. metal,plastic and RAD...... The razors both shave very well for me. I don't notice any difference. Now the RAD, that's a completely different story.
I have Both.The plastic head is slightly lighter and if it needs repair, it can not be taken appart. (But my part plastic one lasted 30 years before the adjustment broke) All the Gillette Adjustables are great shavers. Still have my Dads Fatboy and my Slim, at the time they were both under $2.00, I think I paid around $3 for the BB's

I have only the all metal model, but I don't think there is any difference in the quality of the shaves.
