I'm back with my first love, the Fatip Piccolo, today and for a whole week. I'd nearly forgotten what a wonderful little razor this is... and boy, does it feel heavy after Bakelites and the Gillette Old Type. As ever, BBS easy peasy.

Face and head shave...

Haven't used an OC in a while, pulled it out to prolong the life of the blade for the February Blade Challenge. At this point in the game, Gillette SB razors are enough for a BBS shave.
Used it with a poorly plated Utopia brass handle cut to 3 inches, weighs in at 62 grams. Total weight with SC head is 95 grams. Took a little work, but BBS was achieved, no issues.

Can't say I care much for the GSB blade in the Retro, not nearly as smooth or efficient as the Feather. Nevertheless I was able to achieve my goal which was an enjoyable shave.

Wow, that's a tough one for sure. Well for one thing it doesn't compare to anything that I currently have in my den or that I have used before. The best way I could describe it would be to say the Fine American Blend really does have an old timey barbershop character about it (I know you hear this said about a lot of different aftershaves). Plus it has that wonderful feel on the skin that you get with all of Mr. Fine's splashes.

Thanks, Steve! I use cloth backgrounds that I pick up from a local fabric store. Seems to work pretty good, but have to iron out the wrinkles from time to time, lol. I like the keyhole shape on the handle. Rudy did a superb job of getting the proportions just right and it has a good secure and comfy grip. It's a tad on the small size for my hand I find, but still comfortable enough to use and enjoy. The knot is a 24 mm set at 48 mm loft.

I love it! It passes my "is this the perfect handle for this razor?" criteria... I don't notice it while I'm shaving.
